Abstract: The abstract should be a description of the scope of the paper in less than 250 words, in 11 point Arial. This is the abstract of a fictitious article describing the format that authors must use. Authors can use this article as a template.
Keywords: the author enters here up to 7 keywords separated by comas. Available keywords: aerodynamics, appendages, computational fluid dynamics, construction, design, dinghy, experimental methods, handicap systems, hull, hydrodynamics, instrumentation, keel boats, maneuvering, materials, model testing, motions, multi-hulls, optimization, performance assessment, performance prediction, resistance, rigs, sails, slamming, stability, structures, weather routing, windsurfer.
This is the first section in the main body of the text.

Articles that have been carefully proofread will be accepted for review. Articles that are clearly unacceptable will be returned to the Author without being reviewed.
There is no limitation to the maximum number of pages.
Articles must be written in English.
Articles must be original, must not have been published previously or be pending publication anywhere else, and cannot be under review by any other forum.
Use the ‘Heading 1’ style for main headings. Main headings should be all upper case.
Use the ‘Heading 2’ style for sub-headings. Additional sub-headings are not allowed. Sub-headings should be mixed case (initial capitals followed by lower case on all words except articles, conjunctions, and prepositions, which should appear entirely in lower case).
This section describes the different formats that should be used throughout the article.
The following are the font requirements:
1. Use the Arial font.
2. The title of the article should be in 16 point bold all upper case.
3. Author’s names should be in 12 point bold and affiliation in 12 point.
4. Abstract and keywords should be in 11 point.
5. The rest of the article should be 12 point, justified (‘Normal’ style).
6. Figure and Table captions should be in 12 point bold.
The article should use the style used in this template on A4 paper, with margins as follows:

· Bottom 2.5 cm
· Left 2 cm
· Right 2 cm
· Gutter 0 cm
· Header 1 cm
· Footer 1 cm
The page numbers format is as follows:

Equations should be numbered consecutively using numbers enclosed in parentheses and positioned flush right along the final baseline of the equation.
Symbols and acronyms should be described, i..e. ….. where CD = drag coefficient.
All tables should be numbered consecutively and captioned. The caption should be 12 point bold (‘Caption’ style) and centered below the table. The body of the table should be no smaller than 10 point. Tables should be positioned within the body of the article, centered, and as close as possible to the place where they are first discussed

All figures should be numbered consecutively and captioned. The caption should be 12 point bold (‘Caption’ style) and placed below the figure. Text within the figure should be no smaller than 10 point. Color graphs, photos and animations are encouraged.
Figures should be positioned within the body of the article, centered, and as close as possible to the place where they are first discussed. Wrapping style should be “in line with text”.

The following is additional information for authors.
In text citations should include the author’s last name and year, for example: Bowman (1988) when the citation is part of the sentence and (Bowman, 1988) when it is not. Append lower-case letters to the year in cases of ambiguity. Multiple authors should be treated as follows: Bowman and Skipper (1988) or (Bowman and Skipper, 1988). In the case of three or more authors, list only the first author, followed by et al., for example: Bowman et al. (1988) or (Bowman et al. 1988). Multiple citations that are not part of the sentence should be separated by semicolons, for example (Bowman 1989; Skipper 1990).
Articles where supporting data or a technical description cannot be given for proprietary reasons will not be accepted. Authors are responsible for obtaining publication approval for articles from employers or authorities where necessary. Authors may include a disclaimer at the end of the article.
All submissions to the Journal of Sailboat Technology will be reviewed by at least two reviewers in approximately 4 weeks. The review process is double blind. The reviewers will decide to accept, accept with revisions or reject an Article. An Article will be reviewed only once.
The Author of an Article accepted for publication will receive by email an Article Acceptance Notice and instructions for submittal of the final Article.
Authors are responsible for producing their final Articles for publication.
Authors must submit the Article in Microsoft Word™, formatted in accordance with this template, and a keyword list. Failure to strictly adhere to the formatting guidelines may preclude publication.
Authors must assign copyright to SNAME using the form that can be found at http://www.sname.org/copyright_agreement.htm.
It is assumed that, when an author submits an article to the Journal of Sailboat Technology, he or she is the legal copyright holder and no other claim to the copyright exists.
